One of the most important things to me during a photo session is that my couples are comfortable and relaxed. Most of us are nervous to get in front of the camera. However, after photographing dozens of couples over the years I have figured out the best way to get you ready for your session.

In this post I really wanted to chat about what you can expect during your session and the experience you will receive. I don’t want there to be any surprises on how our time together will be spent. I promise not to have you staring at the camera the entire time. We will spend our time together having fun and documenting real emotions and moments. Getting to Know Each Other Beforehand

Before we meet for your session it is my goal to get to know you. I want to learn about what you like to do for fun and what you’re most passionate about. Learning my clients personalities is one of my favorite parts of the job. Most of my couples start out as clients and turn into lifelong friends. 

I also find it helpful to learn about you both so that I can recommend what to bring to your session (props, etc.) or even what to wear! Also, I can suggest locations based on your likes and dislikes. Being in a location that has the right atmosphere to fit your personalities is key to having a successful and comfortable session. If you aren’t an outdoorsy couple I wouldn’t want to have you tramping through the forest! 

Preparation for Your Couples Session

It is important to feel prepared for your session so you are confident and relaxed. Having this all figured out ahead of time will allow you to relax into your session. I will send you my digital session guide to make sure that you are properly prepared and know exactly what to bring. 

My guide is full of tips and ticks – it has outfit advice, prop suggestions and how to prepare the night before! I don’t want you to have to guess at anything. Being thoroughly prepared will make your session go smoothly and result in the best images possible.

Easy Posing and Prompts for Couples

You don’t need to be a model to have a successful session. All you need to do is have fun and enjoy the moment with your partner. Let your personalities shine and think of this as an awesome date night!  It is my job as your photographer to help you through the session and showcase your unique relationship. I have easy prompts and poses that will get you moving and forget that you are even in front of the camera.
