Destination engagement sessions are becoming increasingly popular among engaged couples. In recent years I have had the opportunity to travel to several locations to help celebrate couples engagements. A destination engagement session is when a couple travels to a specific location outside of where they live. Usually, the location is significant to the couple and is a place they have been wanting to explore. Although, it can be a place they have visited in the past or a place that has a special meaning.
The purpose of these sessions is to capture beautiful and memorable photos in a scenic location. These sessions are often scheduled as a part of a destination wedding.
This provides an opportunity for couples to get to know their photographer and build a relationship before the big day. Simply for the experience and the opportunity to capture stunning photos in a special or new location.
Who is a destination session for?
Destination engagement sessions are for anyone, but are typically for couples who are looking to do something a bit different. These couples usually are looking to adventure to a new location to celebrate this new milestone in their relationship. For example, Jordan and Luke wanted to have their engagement photos in Tennessee. So we headed down south and snapped these gorgeous photos at the Hermitage Hotel and Parthenon nearby. Later this year I will also be meeting them in New Jersey to photograph their wedding!
