Steph and Jake’s wedding here in Rochester NY was one for the books! Their wedding was hosted at the Pomona at Blue Barn, a rustic barn venue that sits on 110 acres of working farmland surrounded by lush green trees. There were so many details and elements to the day that reflected their relationship and personalities. It really made the day a personalized experience for not only Jake and Steph but their guests as well. I absolutely love when my clients go all in for their wedding day and create a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s really fun to see how unique each wedding is.
Steph & Jake booked me as their wedding photographer and I was so excited when I found out that they were having it at the Pomona at Blue Barn! Shortly after booking with me, Steph started getting into the photography industry. She eventually reached out to see if she could start second-shooting for me. Our friendship really started to flourish as we worked together – Steph is so fun to be around and made shooting my weddings a cake walk (no pun intended😂) So as Steph and Jake’s big day was approaching I was getting super excited to photograph their wedding.
I knew it was going to be an incredible day because after getting to know them both, it was clear how much Jake loved Steph. He truly is a gem. I believe every lady out there deserves a Jake. It just really made me so happy to see how deep their love goes and that I got to photograph such an intimate milestone in their lives.
Steph and Jake decided to have a first look and share private vows with each other before their ceremony. Their ceremony included their close family and the bridal party. They finished the night off with an epic PARTY! Their wedding has so many amazing details that really made the day extra special. I absolutely loved that they had a donut wall and a Chinese buffet complete with the little white Chinese take-out boxes and chopsticks! The Pomona is a beautiful venue to do both your ceremony and reception. Additionally, as a huge BONUS you can use their getting ready space which is absolutely stunning!
The Pomona opened in 2019 by husband and wife team – Jill and Jeremy Wolf. The concept of the Pomona came alive because during their venue search The Wolf’s couldn’t find a venue that checked all the boxes. So they decided to build their dream venue! Over the past few years they have been able to share this amazing venue with couples who shared the same vision as them. Their goal was to create a beautiful, light, and airy space that couples could use as a blank canvas to transform into the venue of their dreams.
The Pomona comes with several amenities that make it a great choice for couples. It comes with a lift and bridal suite for getting ready. It has vaulted ceilings with custom chandeliers and abundant natural lighting. As well as a floor-to-ceiling fireplace with mantle. There are 4 ceremony sites available to choose from at this venue. All of the setup and teardown of decor is included. For your reception there are farm tables and mahogany chiavari chairs available to use. The venue is complete with a covered terrace with views of their orchard too.
My favorite part of a wedding is seeing how different they are from other weddings. I love how personalized each experience is and enjoy seeing how each couple expresses themselves. Steph and Jake’s wedding was detail oriented and included so many fun elements.
One of my favorite details they included for their wedding was the floral arrangements that were attached to their arbor. They also had a custom sign made that hung behind their head table at the reception which included their wedding date. Steph and Jake also decided to coordinate their tablescape design with the bridal parties’ warm toned dresses and ties.
They had a cute table set-up where their guests could write messages and put it in a bottle for them to read in lieu of a guestbook. They included a memory table that had photos of family members who had passed away, which I thought was a nice way to honor their memory. For their reception, they had a donut wall, custom pastries and a cake! And as mentioned before, for a late night snack they had a Chinese buffet which I thought was super unique and of course delicious!

“Where do I even begin with Meghan?! besides BOOK HER NOW YOU WILL NEVER EVER REGRET IT. When I first talked to Meghan for our wedding, it was way back in 2020 – what initially drew me to her work was her beautiful earthy, organic tones and the way that you could feel the genuine love between the people in her photos. Since that day up until our wedding day in September of 2022 – my now husband and I have done a handful of sessions with Meghan and truly consider her a friend of ours.
Not only is Meghan the most kind and genuine human but she is SO dang talented – no matter what session we do with her, I am always so in awe of the results and freak out every single time she sends us a gallery. But nothing will compare to when we got our previews back from our wedding. All I could do was sit there in tears of happiness because of the beautiful moments she captured so effortlessly. And that’s only the previews!! I can’t even imagine how I’ll feel when we look at our full wedding gallery. Meghan is there for you every step of the way, she makes you and your significant other feel so comfortable that you hardly know you’re even taking photos. I feel beyond lucky to have found Meghan and cannot wait to have her photograph both big and small moments of our life together for years to come.”
